The Lofoten islands are stretching characteristically out in the deep sea. Lofotdykk is placed strategic in the middle of Lofoten, where the coastal current is constantly pumping the pure water from the Atlantic Ocean in between these islands. The unique location far north and out in the deep sea, is the reason for the good visibility and the special marine life.
In the currents and on the cliff walls there are carpets of soft corals that filter these nutritious waters. Divers can experience a 1,5 kilometres intense current dive in Raftsundet, free-dive of 30-200 meter cliffs, or deep crevasses and canyons surrounded by forest of giant kelp. Below, the bed of white coral sand makes a lasting impression.
In Lofoten you will also find the fearsome catfish, which in this area are numerous.
The World War II and the rough seas around Lofoten have left a large number of shipwrecks in the area. These are mainly warships, cargo / passenger ships, steam and fishing boats. The most popular wrecks are Nordstjerna, Mira, Gallic Stream, Stella Orion, Fram, Hamburg, Ramoe and Rio.
The safari diving centre with longest experience in northern Norway
In the centre of the charming old fisherman’s village called Kabelvaag, you will find the diving centre; Lofotdykk. We are located in a nostalgic fisherman’s house, grounded on poles in the sea. Her you find all facilities for diving, equipment storage, accommodation (20 beds) complete kitchen and a pleasant stay in a real maritime environment.
Our 28 foot seaworthy offshore RIB, do 35 knots while bringing up to 15 divers. It takes from 10 minutes up till one hour to reach the dive sites with a high level of speed and comfort. We often serve you cookies and hot coffee on the excursions. On the way home the above water scenery includes majestic mountain peaks, glaciers and old abandoned fisherman's villages.
Between the dives two “Sauer” compressors (and a bottle magazine) with a total output on total 1600 l / min, makes extreme dry and pure air. No waiting while filling the dive tanks!
During the Diving week you will have one “de-saturation day” You can explore the fantastic qualities that Lofoten offers above the surface. Mountain climbing or simply enjoy fresh shrimps and a cold beer on the wharf. We also recommend you to visit the Lofoten Aquarium, which is located within walking distance.

Important notes!
We always do the diving from our RIB. Close to the centre you have also opportunity to do shore dives on our own. We don’t allow you to bring souvenirs from the wrecks. Depth limits 30 - 42 - 50m depending of experience and equipment. Restriction on your bottom time due to depths more than 35 m. Ask for limits before you plan your dive. You must make your own dive plan. All boat trips and diving on your own responsibility! We have all kinds of diving equipment for hire. We don’t fill nitrox or heliox. Bring warm clothes due to shifting weather. Choose for yourself when you like to start the diving package. Please feel free to add dives and extra nights to the packages. Accommodation at our centre / fisherman’s -house, here you also find a complete equipped kitchen. You must pay a deposit to reserve your dates for the package. Rest of the amount must be paid upon arrival and valid diving licenses must be presented. Supermarket, pub, restaurant and bank / cash automat 200 m from the centre.
